All my eggs in their were set at 2 different times, a staggered hatch. So half started in there alone, then I added the other half a week later, they incubated together for a while hand turning 3 times daily and also rotating eggs around the incubator. Then the first set was ready for lockdown so they were moved to the hatcher. Which left the second half a little time to incubate with more space. I had a fairly good hatch from that incubation. Some of those eggs pictured were actually eggs I won during last years Easter Hatch a longDid you really hatch them all in that thing.![]()

Good thinking trying another egg source! I hope you get many, friendly, colorful chickies. What do you plan to hatch?Haha yup![]()
Also, I have had horrible luck with all chicken colors except neutral colors. Of all the chicks, I have hatched, there was only the colors of gold and a brown, both with issues. The gold is really mean, and the brown one acts 'retarded'. It's definatly not me, but all the eggs I have ever hatched came from a person who doesn't take the best care of her birds. I will be hatching other eggs this time.![]()

Do any or all of you recall your hatch rate? Pics of them hatching? I would be afraid ventilation would be an issue with stacking...I'm not brave enough to test my incubator that much! Lol!
Don't we all want little chicks all the timeHehehe. I was showing hubby my eggs in the bator right now and of course I'm all excited and he tells me if I just let my chickens do what they do I wouldn't need to incubate, silly man I'm incubating so I can have chicks ALL the time not just when the girls want to.![]()
How do you turn them all when they're in there like that? Can you just put something under the incubator and keep switching sides?
I have a staggered hatch going on right now too. I put 14 in last monday,11 in this Monday and adding another 6 tomorrow (shipped eggs coming today). This is my first attempt at a staggered hatch. I need to get the little giant up and running her in a couple days and try to get the temps stable since it's going to be my hatcher. I've never used it yet lol.I'm doing a staggered hatch right now. I have 24 that went in on the 10th. Another 16 went in on the 17th, and I have another Dz that I need to find room for in there this weekend. This should have my bater available Just in time for the 32+eggs I have coming for the HAL on the 14th...![]()

Wow, I just checked Post #1 and we have a long, long list of participants! There are going to be sooooo many cute babies of so many kinds for us to oo and awe over!!
My hatch wasn't that great about 60-65%, but it was due to the eggs not being fertile and to high humidity. I've learned that I can have hatch rates of 80% and up by doing a dry hatch.Do any or all of you recall your hatch rate? Pics of them hatching? I would be afraid ventilation would be an issue with stacking...I'm not brave enough to test my incubator that much! Lol!
