The 6th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Just put 40 eggs in the hatching tray. These were supposed to be chicks for the auction this coming Saturday, but since it is cancelled, hello newspaper ad.

Yesterday my Salmon NN rooster started acting droopy. Still is today. I don't know if its the weather or what. I figure it is since he's never acted sick and puny before. So if a y if the eggs that are his hatching I'll mark so I can be sure to keep a son. I actually have at least one now from the NYD hatch. I'll continue to watch.

If I can wrangle up some BCM eggs in time I'll join! Just don't tell hubby...

I wish that I had and could afford some olive Egger eggs to hatch for Easter. They sell very well. I would like a dew to keep for myself also.

Thank you, me too. I do gave an interesting one right now that i think is a roo but not really sure. Turned out mottled, buffish- red color with barred. My rooster does carry mottling not sure if barred is considered mottled or not.

I'm hoping too. I do have 2 more NN Roos I'm just trying to keep three lines going right now. I have an Orange Barred rooster and a Blue Copper rooster ( at least I call him that).

The Salmon color was not really my favorite but he has thrown so many interesting colors with various hens.

LOL I have bred so many crosses that ive just made up names or called them certain things...for example, here is my young calico cockerel:



I really love your NN Americana proj. you have. I saw your auction on your barred orange roo's eggs and was so tempted...LOL having all my un-needed males all gone at the moment makes me want to add more birds...if you know what I mean

I was confused on how you wrote out your auction though....what does your orange barred NN cover? like what colors?

I have him over a red ( hatchery color red Turken), a silver hen ( she actually has the salmon breast), a dark red (think hatchery RIR with a bunch of greenish colored feathers misplaced). I figure most will turn out barred along with a few other colors. I'll know soon, there are some. Of these that are supposed to hatch about Friday.
