Quick question, I started collecting eggs yesterday, the coop temp was probably about 45 degrees so the eggs were cold. Will they be okay? They're in the house now, and I'll be sure to collect them before any chance of freezing.

Oh and unless I can get some hatching eggs from some where else, the daddy will be my dark cornish too (sure hope he isn't shooting blanks), and the moms will be dark cornish, a couple golden comets (Isa Brown strain) and my little Dominiques.

This should be fun!

They should be fine! If they were never frozen. It does sound like a fun hatch. :)
Human egg can be frozen and then implanted. It is similar with chicken eggs. The thing that hurts them, and it does not hurt the embryo is freezing hard enough the crack the shell.

45f is fine!

I will be hatching standard breed chickens cross bantam roosters

Forgetting who I welcomed, but you are new....and, standard chicken crosses are one of my favorite .. ahem..breeds.

And bantams to boot!

So EGGcited! I am picking up 1/2 my eggs tonight! I set up the incubator a few hours ago and am working on letting it get up to temp and dry...I will wait until it has been steady for a good long while before I set the eggs even if that means waiting till tomorrow.

*edited to add*

And I am picking up and setting up the second incubator that a good friend is letting me borrow tonight.
