I scrubbed my incubator down today with hot soapy water. I turned it on today and will be checking it daily until I set the eggs.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for eggs being shipped to me from California AND from Pennsylvania. Stay strong, little eggs!

Shipped eggs make me so nervous!

I will be setting both chicken and quail.

I WAS going to set 15 dozen fertile eating eggs from Whole Foods, but it would have to be special order, and they wouldn't arrive for pickup in time.

So far the plan is that I'm going to set black and blue copper marans, possibly some white crested black polish and then as many of my own mixed eggs that I can collect now till Saturday!

Including a mystery egg that could be a chicken or a call duck.....I hope to keep finding one in the same hiding spot in case it is a duckling so he would have duck buddies

We don't spray our fruit trees. They are older, but we have plenty of apple trees, so we get plenty. Have a huge cherry tree that just keeps on giving. When we see the honey bees, we are pretty excited, because we know we will be getting fruit.

I do have a broody but I have committed her to raising some chicks I am getting from Urch poultry. In order that I never again miss a HAL because of a serious lack of broodies, I am ordering my Brinsea on Friday but it won't be here in time obviously for the Easter HAL. You guys all have fun! Happy and Successful hatching wishes to all of you!!!

my grandfather is a beekeeper so I know just how important they are! wonderful creatures that make great treats too! AND CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! I saw one the other day!! SPRING IS NEAR

I've got all of my...chick eggs in a row. At least I know that they will/should be here in time. Only two different ones will be shipped, have a couple of friends that I will hatch from their flock. Won't be long to set now.

Bees are so extremely important. I love seeing them in my garden, anticipating fresh vegetables... but I don't like it when they sting me. I turn into a small child, waving my arms and running in frantic circles.
