Some of the eggs I'll be setting on Saturday. Mille fleur bantams and olive eggers, plus some heritage buff orps (not pictured).

Someone complained earlier that they were feeling lonely because they were from Nevada and there was no one else from around them. I am kind of feeling lonely because it seems like most of the participants are women. Nothing wrong with that, just curious if I am correct. It seems like there is a 10: 1 ratio. Does that sound true?

Lately I've been seeing quite a few of (what I believe too be) new male members, but on the average I believe you are right, though, with the majority it is hard to tell male/female by the neutral "names".

Thinking of an experiment......

I ship eggs in the largest size priority box. I'm thinking, what if I run a string back and forth through the middle, set the carton of eggs on that, run the string over the carton and through the box again...? Okay, hard to explain. In other words, the carton of eggs will be secured and suspended in the middle of the box. What do you think? Would it give them the needed shock suspension to not get jiggled to death....?

so true but if I was a young man (and not accounted for) would be a great place to pick up chicks!! LoL

I've got a picture somewhere of an old hen of mine who liked to ride one of my big woolie ewes. There were 2 hens actually, kind of looked like they were racing when they were both nestled in the wool and the ewes decided to relocated. Funniest thing!

I got my serama eggs from @TJChickens at noon today! all arrived well, and are very pretty! I ordered 6, but I got 6 extras! im very eggcited!
3 seemed to be seeping a little, so im going to watch them some more. there are some detached air cells and what not, but I have them sitting in an egg carton for 48 hours. them Im going to start rotating them again.
I hope I get at least 5 chicks!

for my first shipped eggs, I hope all goes well.
I was asked today by the fam how many eggs im setting....I said 13....LOL there are WAY more than that!!!
