That's why I have a rule at my house: no animals in the house, so I threw out my son- in- law. Haha. Just kidding. No cats and no dogs. I do exceptions on baby chicks though if it is cold, cold. Cold outside and then only for a day or two.

Because of work I have only been able to turn my eggs twice a day (once in morning once before bed).  Will that suffice?

Has always worked fine for me.

I think cats knock things off counter tops to see if they land on their feet.

If countries could get 'mad' at each other like your kids did with the peacock, war might be quite fun!

I'm being tempted. I've been waiting on my blue and green eggs from my gals for a couple months and now a few days into the HAL they start giving them to me! I'm thinking that when I start pulling clears and rings at a week I might add some more eggs to the empty spots. Sounds reasonable right?

I was contemplating the same thing lol. I literally just set aside 2 eggs that looked like they wanted to be hatched.

The kids got mad at one of our free range peacocks because he flew into a chicken pen and was chasing a rooster... and the next time I looked outside, he had a dunce hat on! He still had it on this morning and I had to trap him to catch him to take it off!

Same here. NO CATS ALLOWED. I do have 2 dogs but after they one day leave us NO MORE ANIMALS IN THE HOUSE, except the chicks lol. I have an in-law problem here also, brother in law has been squatting in our basement for 8 months now

He is out of here this weekend thank goodness.

argh, I feel your pain! My BIL had squatted at our house numerous times in the past and lo and behold, he just moved back to our area. .... squatting with my other BIL. I know how this works, they'll get into a fight and guess who's doorstep he'll end up on. .... again. Hopeless :/

Well I am sick to my stomach ! I checked on my Temp and the display on my new F I Pro Series reads 100.5. I have two acurite thermometers in there and one read 108 and the other 109. And the worst part the high on each one read 127 and 120. What's even worse is last night I took a picture through the window of all the thermometers like I have been doing which makes it easier to read. BUT I only looked at the thermometer display on the Bator which has held steady at 100.5. I see now that the spike happened sometime yesterday or ?????? I've been sick and of course Sat night I did t go to bed until 6 am Sunday Am.....with all this egg setting eggcitement. I don't know whether to be ****** off or sad or both....Guess I am both. Not to mention I spent a lot of money on shipped eggs. Even sadder I was in town (while the spikes were no doubt happening) buying another incubator cause I thought $94.5 was a good price for a digital Bator with a turner and fan. Oh and it doubles as an egg cooker ! Put a call in to FI. There going to call back. They said it is a new Bator no complaints yet. I'm first.

Uuuuugh, that just is awful. I have that same incubator on order as well. I am only running it as a hatcher this time though. I will be sure to run it for a week before I put anything in there. I am so sorry that you had this happen.

i dont think so. The L CHEAPO bulb thermometer that sets on top of the eggs read 105 too. Still waiting for FI to call back. I read on the Brinsea we site that even Temps a few degrees higher for 15-30 miss can kill embryo. It said going lower will not kill them. Actually they are making bators that will cool down for an hour a day to mimic nature. I might just have to give up on this hobby it's getting so stressful let alone expensive I've said that before too
