Ohh ok i see what you mean.
My little buttercup Reese is not doing so good for the past month she has been getting sick then being fine well now i think this might be her last time she's not doing good and im doing the best i can by putting vet-rx on her nose giving her food and water with vitamins and antibiotics in her water
She's also spending the day in my bathroom while she gets better atleast i HOPE she gets better
I'm sorry you lost her.

So. Emu eggs in hand! I'm guessing I'm past the time to set for HAL. I'm going to need to go check in that!
You're still good. Get those eggs in the bator! You have 6 emu eggs, right?

for a great hatch!

This thread moves fast! I think for the HAL I will try to hatch a few 2nd Generation Olive Eggers and/or some black sexlinks, unless my Australorp cockerel kicks it into gear and I start getting fertile eggs from his girls.Nothing too exciting, but it would be so much fun to have them Easter morning.

I do have a question, can someone give me an idea of the sorts of prizes usually given out? I kind of want to provide some prize or other, but I don't want to offer something and have it be the worst prize given out.
It does move fast, and gets faster when hatching starts.

The prizes change every year. This year we have: GFM's, Amazon Gift card, poultry related pictures, egg skelter, Origami designs, cookbook, mouse pad, various hatching eggs, a t-shirt, and sponsor prizes for big stuff.

I would like to do the hatch along!! I will be hatching a barnyard mix!!

I would like to join! I will have a brooder full of week olds then, if all goes right, but you can never have too many chicks on Easter!

I would love to find some lavender orps, or any kind of speckled chickens to hatch- anyone out there have something like that? LOL

I have a small clock of bantam cochins with frizzle genes if anyone would need eggs!

I have a 50/50 mix of Lavender Orps and Black/Lav split Orps this year. The offspring will also be half English. If you are interested in hatching eggs, let me know, but it has to warm up! Too cold to ship! I have my first batch of chicks ready to hatch this weekend and can't wait, but I always keep some hatching eggs in the chiller fridge. I had 100% fertility and 100% survival to this point, but of course it won't be that good with shipped eggs. It is a good starting place, though. PM me if you don't find any lavender Orps closer to you and are interested.

Well I sneaked in another 18 eggs into the incubator. Has them saved up to sell but got no buyers so I put 'em in.

15 Naked Neck and 3 Black Jersey Giant x Green Egger Naked Neck. I'm anxious hi see tge cross if these two. See if the pea comb and green egg will pass on.

I would love a green egg from a NN. You must have a large piece of property to have this many chickens..and some big ones at that!

I had wanted to do something like that a while ago, because I love details and neatly organized statistics, but because I am good on computers, I thought of making up info sheets for each chicken on a Word document or something, with their basic name/breed/age etc stats and any other observed notes on them. The problem is getting that elusive "round tuit"

... and since we have over 50 hens in our laying flocks with new ones coming in each year as pullets and others leaving either by sale or being sent to freezer camp because of age...the task of keeping an up to date catalog of them all is rather daunting!

I still would like to give it a try some day though...
My problem is actually remembering to write stuff down. I've started this project so many times it's bad.
Quote:I will make one later however it will also have 4H stuff in it
I knew I forgot to add something! If I can keep mine going that long it'll some that'll be added in the future.
