I had a brain dead moment, I know the end colors of my babies I am hatching so I decided not to put the divider in to keep breeds separate. I had not made it prior to setting the eggs and did not want to take them out to build it. After they hatched, I soon realized that some of them hatch pretty much the same color, so now I will have to wait to know for sure who is who.
The only thing that saved me was the fact that I don't have a second brooder and do not want to mix live chicks with my new hatches or I would have.@venymae same thing happened to me at the feed store yesterday...but it was with turkey poults, EEs, and buff orpingtons![]()

Did someone here buy a dickie hatcher? If so how do you like it?
The one thing I don't like about the dickie bator is I wish the hatch part was taller when you put the lid wire on the hatcher part.
I have hatched with it off but the chicks get in the small spaces on the sides and in the very back. make one heck of a mess plus can get in the moving parts of the turner.
My arms aren'''''t long enough to get to the back of the bator to clean real good..
my chicks are hatch like popcorn now. will probably take some out later today to see how many is in there. Hard to count thought the screen .
Happy hatch to all
