Where did you get your East Indies? I was thinking of trying them.

They came from Ideal Poultry in TX, so they aren't show quality but I still like having them around. I live in WY so we have more winter than summer, its hard to have them because they make such a mess of the water.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Wednesday! Im reading a little and enjoying some fresh brewed coffee while the littles are getting ready for school. Crazy as it sounds or not sounds lol I woke up thinking about chickens  

Good morning! Took the kids to the bus stop unlocked the coop and I got 2 eggs already. Yep always thinking of chickens.

I think I am going to be able to play along again this year!! My girls are laying, and SO ARE MY DUCKS!!!!!! I am so excited about the duck eggs. I am getting about 1 a day, and yesterday, I got 2! They are off to a great start this morning because my son found one and it's not even 7:30AM! I am running a mixed flock of Pekins, Blue Swedish, and Mallards, so it will be interesting to see what we get. I'm going to separate them later this spring to get pure breeds for the kids for 4H, but for now, I just want to hatch out some babies!

I even told her about the fancy new little coop with covered run that I was going to put her in with the Blue Partridge Silkie Roo I just bought...

(she is currently in with my little English bantam trio), but I am afraid she is serious. I will try and hold her off for a week at least before giving her any eggs to sit on - that way it will at least be mid March when the chicks hatch, and it will also give me a chance to make sure she is serious, since she is only 9 months old.

I guess I will just have to hope that a few of our Buff Orpingtons or Marans go Broody in time for the HAL - at least in time to adopt the chicks from the incubator like last year.

I have emu eggs if anyone wants to try to hatch them. I have two mated pairs of emus but I haven't actually witnessed any mating. Just pay shipping.

UPDATE: Emue eggs spoken for and shipped out!

Next time you have eggs let me know! I'd love to try hatching some!!

Ive got 30 duck eggs in the incubator and 1 silkie egg. Going to put more chicken eggs in. I also have 5 sebastopol geese eggs in to. So count me in!!!

Next batch of geese eggs, duck eggs, chicken eggs and quail are going in on the set dates!
