I didn't get one either. But I've enjoyed scrolling through them.

Okay, so I'm going to be doing something CRAZY for this year's Easter Hatch-A-Long:

There aren't any grocery stores in my area that sell the fertile chicken eggs by the dozen. Whole Foods, however, will sell me fertile chicken eggs if I commit to at least 15 dozen. They will ship 15 dozen "fertile" chicken eggs to my local store. It comes out to roughly $3.60/dozen.

SO... I will be setting ALL 15 DOZEN Whole Foods "fertile" eggs (typically for eating), as a grand experiment, among my own incubators combined with my SO's incubators...

That's 180 eggs.

I have many, many people offering to buy the chicks (if any hatch) when the time comes at $1.00 - $2.00 each, so I'm not too worried about excess chicks. I'm more curious to see how many of them will actually hatch...

So stay tuned...

It's a gamble; I've hatched grocery store (Trader Joes) eggs twice. 1st try was 1 out of 10, eggs were 8 days old. The 2nd time I hatched 11 out of 12 and the eggs were 5 days old. Both times were out of the fridge section in the store.- check out the Trader Joes thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...cery-store-egg-hatching-club-are-you-a-member

It's pretty neat to see little chicks hatching from eggs that were supposed to be breakfast.
