I mentioned it, got that funny face many yrs. ago, found a real good out of the place from him, and went for it. He has since then, come a long way to say the least. He now knows when to ask, isn't it about time for your eggs to hatch..any pips yet? When they do start pipping..any zipping yet? When they do hatch, how are they doing..get a good hatch this time?
And when it comes to me deciding on which hen to sell, he sometimes asks, you are selling Reba?! She's one of the sweetest ones out there.![]()

jumping in a few days late but i am going to try and help

you do not need the relay - the thermostat has a buit in relay.
you dont need the heat sink
there is a better thermostat looks the same - check ebay or amazon for STC 1000 - i use them on styro upgrades and new builds like my small hatcher.
HOW TO WIRE A STC 1000 TO A LG HEATINE ELEMENT (I use 110v and 220v in the Phils but the wiring is the same)
the above is if you are using a 110v fan
if using a 12V fan you can just install a female end of an extension cord and plug the LG into that - just crank the original thermostat all the way up

My sister is also due early April but he is already getting ready for the big day so the Dr said to be expecting a early arrival. This spring is going to be sooooo exciting between the baby chicks and the new nephew I can barely containe the excitement![]()
the farenheit controller therehas a delay before the heater engages - I dont recommend it.Thanks Oz! I honestly had almost given up on getting a digital temp controller for my LG right now, because I couldn't find a diagram or clear instructions on how to specifically wire into an LG styrobater, but your pictures and diagram make things much clearer! I am almost decided to go for it, but I still can't find an STC-1000 in fahrenheit and I am worried that the fahrenheit digital temp controllers that I can find might be different in some way and then your diagram and instructions would not work. What do you think of this one on E-bay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/110V-Digita...933?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3ce9e1c445 ? Do you think it would work the same as the STC-1000?
Also, could you possibly clarify or show a picture of what you meant by the second wiring option - if you have a 12V fan? Are you using the extension cord to connect the old thermostat to the digital one? Are both of them connected to a power outlet? Sorry but I haven't done any re-wiring projects before and I want to make sure I get this right! Thanks!![]()
What a great wiring idea! I was going to upgrade and rewire my coolerbator, and was trying to decide what to use for the extra wiring! That is perfect, especially since cut down the middle, it stays nicely shielded, and is a bit more flexible than the house wiring I thought I would have to use!!!the farenheit controller therehas a delay before the heater engages - I dont recommend it.
Whats wrong with using centegrade. you only ever have to program it once and the same number in centigrade is aleays the same number when converted to farenheit.
A cheap way to do the wiring is a 99c store extension cord cut in half. the female end is attached to thermostat instead of hard wiring. the incubatoe can then be attached to the extension cord. The caveat is the fan. It must always be on.
if you use a 12v fan then its using a transformer/charger so it does not need to be wired into diagram. You can always wire a 110v case fan to its own cord and plug directly into the wall - just not into the extension cord that is controlling the temp.
