I know someone asked about hova bators but now I can't find the post. I use a hova bator 1588 with the preset thermostat and LOVE it. My first 3 hatches I had chicks hatching early so I just bumped it down .5 degrees for this hatch

I'll be adding a few more tomorrow. Still waiting in a shipped box of eggs.

I set my eggs this evening for two reasons:
1. I managed to wait 24 after they arrived and didn't feel strong enough to wait longer

2. My two hens that were supposed to arrive today via the USPS are missing. I feel horrible and I'm so worried about them. So I tried to help my mood with a little egg setting.

It helped, but I'm still worried about my two new girls!!


Looking forward to a good hatch! Good luck to everyone else as they set their eggs.

I managed to get all 9 to fit in my mini!!!

2 olive eggers

My father just sent me a link to a Mother Earth News article that said "rounded oval shaped eggs hatch pullets, where as pointy eggs are cockerels". Sounded odd to me. What do you guys think? Fact or Fiction?

I can't tell you for certain if it is fact or fiction because I have never tried, but I have read several stories about where they tried it and it actually worked. It seems to me that the people who say it doesn't work have never tried...

The three piggy-back eggs are going in tomorrow @ midnight, along with any stragglers that might show up before then, but the rest are going in a day early, due in part to the repeated 'Take Note' about shipped and age! (Thanks).

I got males from the roundest eggs. maybe the eggs all need to be from the same hen and the roundest of her eggs are pullets. When can we announce how many eggs and what breeds we are putting in the Incubators...? I had to load mine up tonight...got a sale coming up in 23 days so I wanted to give them a couple days to make sure they were alive and healthy before I take them to the sale.

You can announce them now. Just post in this thread how many eggs you set.
