You can use a funnel and a tube to go through one of the holes in the egg turner. Move the egg out of the way of course.

Humidity comes from surface area evaporation not depth so you want to completely fill one tank. Wait for the humidity to go down to about 20% before adding more. Usually I can go about three days before adding water.

Great idea thanks!

Hi everyone! This is my first time hatching chicks in an incubator and I took the risk of buying eggs off of Ebay. I have never done this before but I'm hoping someone could give me advice on what to do when the eggs arrive. I know shipped eggs are a gamble but I thought I would give it a try.

42 eggs set!!!! I wasn't planning on setting until Sunday so they would actual be due Easter morning......but.....I had to pick them up today, and well, I don't have a good place to store them, and it seems like wasted time to have them sitting...so, they are in the bator.
About 20 Spitzhaubens, 2or 3 Japanese Black Bantams, a couple EE, a couple with a French sounding name (I can't remember what she said...lol) a couple brown leghorn and some good old mixes.

Just went out to get eggs and... I might have a broody!! She screamed at me as soon as I walked in the coop and apparently the other hens didn't want to mess with her because they laid their eggs on the floor beside the nest box. If she is broody, that means... SET MORE EGGS!!

Thanks. I will have to double check the one in question. So far the thermostat goes on and off. At least its my borrowed one (maybe not the smartest thing I have done, more in likely what i borrowed opposed to the idea). I will just have to baby sit it for three weeks.

Is the wafer visible or inside a box?
just look at the inside top on the opposite side of the knob (wing nut) you turn to adjust heat. the new ones have an electronic box and older ones have that wafer on the other side.

Newbie here. Does anyone have the Farm Innovators 4200? I have mine going and it's at 101 degrees and 85% humidity. How do I get the humidity down? Should I not have put water in? Is there an easy way to put in take out water? Also, I saw someone speak of a "liner" on YouTube. Mine did not come with one what should I get to line the bottom?

I use a wide straw that I wiggle down through a vent hole and a turkey baster to squeeze the water into the straw. It works perfect!

Haha sounds like it. Their little noises always make me laugh. Except for my turkey hen :/ Man, she's scary when she's broody!

Have they come yet? You can set them for a 12 hr. period once they come .. pointy end down, I like being able to set mine 24 hrs. after getting them, unless they were out there in P.O. time too long, then I go for the 12 hrs. I've done both, had good hatches either way.

Here is a photo of the ones I got today a day late. I will set them tonight around midnight, so, I think they will count as setting on the 14th..well, will wait until just after midnight.
