:hugs So sorry! :sick You can try to rinse them off. Use very warm water. If you have Oxine, dip them in a very warm solution before setting. However, you may not have very good luck with them, but if you don't have any other eggs you are risking in the incubator, it can't hurt to try. Chances are they have been banged around too much and the yolks may be scrambled on the ones that are not broken. :hugs

found my eggs but it doesn't look good... Is it possible to rise the eggs off?

Clean them gently with warm water and candle them. I would try to hatch anything that didn't explode and isn't cracked. Send a copy of the picture you took of them to the seller. Some reship eggs out in the event of massive packing failure. You may need to let them sit for close to 36 hours before the air cells firm up after a beating like that, and you may very well have to do some assists at hatch time if they make it, but don't give up yet! They took quite a hit, and were totally under packed, but don't write them off unless they candle out at 10 days looking absolutely clear.

Finally!! So far we have 5 BCM we got from a freind, 5 black blue orpington bantam and 8 easter egger eggs ready. Last 13 are from our own girls. Will see if we get any extras in the morning and set bator at noon. Kids are all excited we are joining :)

Hi everyone!!! :frow

I'm joining! I'm setting 21 eggs from @chiques chicks

Here they are! :)

For the math people, I'm setting them at 9:26 am tomorrow ;)

Stalk the UPS truck and grab them the moment they arrive. Inspect them all for breakage. Candle them to check for cracks that would otherwise be invisible. For small cracks, some people have luck sealing them nail polish. I usually unload anything cracked, but is entirely up to you. If you do seal them, watch them very closely for spoilage. Eggsplosions are probably the most awful smelling things ever, so if they don't look like they are developing over time, remove them quickly. You will notice that shipping dislodges the air space in the egg. It will be rolling around like the bubble in a level as you move the egg during candling. We let shipped eggs rest so that this bubble will fix in the correct position again. I also weigh my eggs at this time, in order to track weight loss, but it's not necessary to weigh to get a good hatch.. Put the eggs so that the widest point is facing up, in a cool spot in the house. I put mine in a spare room, but any place that isn't super warm is fine, and if your whole house is basically the same temperature, the kitchen counter is fine for them! Let them sit for 24 hours and candle them again. The bubble should not be able to travel across the egg anymore. If it still can, let them sit for another 12 hours and check again. Shipping also causes the air spaces to be malformed into a "saddle" shape. If the edges of the air space dip down on the sides, make a note of the egg - you may have to assist it later. As soon as the little bubbles are staying at the wide end of the eggs, you can set them and let the fun begin!!

I have had great luck with eBay eggs. I like to talk to the sellers before I buy, so I get a feel as to how they treat their eggs. My first batch of eBay eggs for the season is in my incubator. One of the set was infertile, but the rest are growing wonderfully!!

Good luck with your hatch, and enjoy the Hatch A Long!!!
I let my shipped eggs sit for 48 hrs. and the air bubble is still moving like a level when I tilt the egg. I just went ahead and put them in the incubator since they are getting older by the hour. Did I do wrong? The only one with a 'stuck' air sac has it on the side of the egg. I marked that one.

I found them at my neighbors house. I am so devastated... I am not sure if I will have time to find anymore eggs to set for tomorrow. I do have some of my own eggs but I don't know is they are fertile because my rooster is only 13 weeks old.
