Does anyone have this incubator? I borrowed from a friend, who doesn't have the instruction manual. I believe it is a Chinese special. There are settings 'AL' 'AH' 'A5' ' CA' 'H5' 'L5'

ANY IDEAS??

hoping to set 48 eggs tonight, but still trying to figure this thing out!

Here ya go a video explaining how to set it up. Hope it helps!

I have that incubator. Yes, it was a cheapie Chinese special off of Ebay. I bought two, one broke while I was away on a trip. I came home, heartbroken, to an ice cold incubator a few weeks back...

My other, however, holds temp extremely well. I haven't had any issues with it. This is besides the fact that I have to actually set it to 38.5 celcius to get 37.5 celcius at egg level inside the actual incubator.

The AL AH A5, etc. all stand for the low/high temp and humidity settings. I can give you more details once I get home and take a look at it. Would you like me to send you a few scanned pages of the instruction manual?

I actually reset all of those settings (disabled them), because it would constantly beep...

That would be so helpful! Set it high, got it! Yesterday it would not stop beeping, now I seem to have it pretty steady at 37.5 and 48% humidity

I looked at all that empty space in that picture and decided to fill more of it after collecting more eggs today.

Add 2 more SFH, 1 more project Am (could be pure black), and 1 White Bresse for a new total of 16.

Add one more BCM for a total of 17 :lau These girls haven't laid in months and now 2 in 2 days! I guess they liked their "egg inducing" special treats yesterday! :thumbsup

Yeah, I disabled ALL of those settings. Annoying. It kept me up all night with constant beeping.

My main two concerns are temp and humidity. I do dry incubation, so I don't add any water until lockdown so that takes care of that.

For temperature, I throw in four or five cheap monitors. If I am confident in steady temp, I just don't need those extra "alarms". But yes, I do have to set it rather high. Those extra monitors I average out ad compare to what the incubator displays. It would make sense that the temp drops slightly at "egg level" in the incubator...

If it starts beeping, and your nearby, just hit the top green button to stop it immediately.

I'll dig up one of the manuals once I get home tonight. I wouldn't be afraid to set the eggs, however, if your temp is steady.

Have fun!

I have lots to catch up on which I will be doing tonight, but I just had to share...
It would appear that my newest hen, who arrived here yesterday after a 2 day trip via the USPS, has heard about the hatch-along and wanted to participate.

So add me to the broodie hen hatch along too...with 1 egg at the moment. This is a brown red bantam cochin who was with a birchen bantam cochin rooster in her previous home. No idea if the egg is fertile, but she seems to think so. (This is in addition to the 9 I set in the incubator on Thursday evening.)

Hello everyone! Professor Wattles returning for a
poultry service announcement:
March 14 is that most important of all important days,

National Pi Day!

This year is extra special because the date, 3/14/15, is the first five digits of pi.
pi = 3.1415

And on this date, at precisely
9:26 and 53 seconds,
you can experience pi to ten places!

pi = 3.141592653

Fantastically, extraordinarily, wonderful!
You have two chances, so don't miss out! It won't happen again for 100 years!

Please help us celebrate
by serving PIE to chickens everywhere.

Remember, it is a well documented fact that chickens do not recognize the existence of silent Es.

Pleas serv us pi today!!

This poultry service announcement was brought to you by Dr. Minorc A. Wattles, APA, ALBC.

A mind is like a door. Keep it open and something might get in.
