I don't want to offend anyone, but I think a lot off you worry too much!! My broody hens have hatched out dirty filthy eggs in October. I put my eggs in the incubator straight from the box, no matter how dirty. Nature will take its course. Just make sure to keep them to temp

Do you think that works ron?   If so, I'm am so going out and buying some red pepper flakes.   I have 4 pullets that all should have started...

I thought my EE should have been laying already, so about three weeks ago I started giving chili flakes too everyone and within about two weeks they started laying.
Coincidence? Never know. I am sold on it.
400

My pullet's first egg! I have gotten 8 eggs in 9 days from three pullets (hens).
Did get my first lash egg today though. After 8 small but perfect eggs.

I got a farm inovators incubator, I may return it because i can't put my thermometers in. I use two, but they there is no where to put them, unless I can get a rack removed. What does everyone do for theirs?

I finally had my LAST chick hatch late late on Day 24. Going to hurry and clean the bator after they dry so I can still join the HAL, maybe by tomorrow.

Can I stack eggs in a bator with an autoturner? It's an LG so the individual rows tilt, not the entire tray. I only needs to stack four. Or eight. ;)

My new thermometer will be here Tuesday. I'm going check my current one with the ice water to see if I can figure out how far it's off.

Has anyone in the egg hatching world considered this product to control humidity?

Museums have been using basically the same product for years to control humidity. Now this company sells it in small packs for people who want to control humidity in small spaces.
Here's a web site showing what it is.

I didn't know if the salts would interfere with the eggs hatching.

I set 35 mixed eggs this evening. I haven't heard anything more from my neighbor so I just stuck 6 slightly older eggs in with the 29 I set a couple hours ago. I saw that neat idea of pulling a tray out of the turner and could fit my thermometer on the floor now.

washing eggs?!?
Who cares!!!
I did a experiment, half my eggs washed half unwashed, 3 unwashed hatched 4 washed hatched! Everyone else was infertile...(out of 12 eggs total)
