Would Love to know where you found Mottled Houdans? I am working with them and all I can find are McMurray lines, or some from a University in the Midwest..keeping eyes peeled for some new bloodlines if they can be found. Any leads would be great!

Once the AI scare clears up, The University of Arkansas' Dr. Bramwell has some in his project flock as does P. Allen Smith here in Arkansas. Right now I know Dr. Bramwell is not giving out eggs as he is not allowing any outsiders on the grounds to prevent potential spread of AI. I do not know if P. Allen Smith ships or sells eggs but he does have a web site for heritage fowl.

So I have a Circulated Air Hovabator - 2362-E, I haven't crossed referenced the thermometer yet, but it's staying right around 99.5-100. I'm just triple checking that this is the correct temp circulated air incubators? I was reading that still air needs to be at a different temp? The more I read the more confused I get.

I have 7 female ducks but only 3 are mallards. The other 4 are black sweedish. Are the mallard eggs a different size than the black Swedish? I don't think my mallards are laying yet but I got 4 duck eggs today and it got me thinking about breeding the ducks some more. As long as I can tell the mallard eggs apart from the black Swedish eggs it won't be a bid deal but if they are the same size and color I'll need to pull 4 ducks tomorrow from the mallard pen.
Mallard eggs are a blue grey to green color.

Puddin she is very pretty.

Thanks!

Well I found my self blue oegb nest and she was trying to sit 19 lmao so cute, so I just had to set 9 of them right? =) so I did, her last set took 18 days so does that make these nine eligible?

Quote: My black swedes right now are laying a EE blue egg the size of a khaki duck egg, a light light muddy colored egg the size of a khaki duck egg, and a white duck egg that looks very similar to what I used to get from my khaki ducks. Then today I got 2 EE blue duck eggs, a dirty light muddy colored duck egg, and a white duck egg. They were all about the same size ~ the size I used to get from my khakis. I'm hoping all 4 came from my black ducks but then again it would be wonderful news if my mallards were finally laying eggs. They were summer hatches June or July last year and still not clearly laying eggs.
