I was thinking the same thing but being so early made me wonder. Would be nice if they all looked the same wouldn't it.That would be to easy wouldn't it !I see nice veins in all of those eggs. One of them even has an easily seen embryo. The second from the bottom will either be fine or the embryo will die and there will be a blood ring.

do you mean these are the four that might be ok but you still have concerns of the first 3 because of the dark mass? Looks like some veining on them but could be smear lines on the outside shells?

Well I'm sure you'll have more success this time around! And so far everyone on this thread has been really helpful, so you'll have a bunch of support! This is my first time with a new incubator and first in a few years! Last time I hatched was about 10 years ago, but I'm very excited to get back into it! Did your eggs come through the mail or from a local breeder?
The eggs are all pretty clean. On one, you can see a dark spot that is soiling from the coop. But the top three images are what ten of my eggs look like. Also, when I turn them slowly, the darker stuff inside drifts around like loose sludge.
Thank you. I am hoping they are okay, but I'm not holding my breath. We will see what happens.
Oh yeah, it's great fun! I mostly enjoy being around and looking at adult chickens, they are much better looking after a year or two, to me at least. I have Heritage and rarer breeds too, so they normally take longer to grow up. I never end up having time to play or fuss over the babies, so I really start enjoying them when they are old enough to be out-and-about, and they rush over to see me. My boyfriend says they don't rush over to him or anyone else, so it makes me feel good when they recognize me. They know me as the Human-slave treat lady. But incubating and having fluffy babies is fun too. I'm sure once you have some success you'll enjoy it.Well I'm glad to know that this can still be appealing for a long period of time.
I got my eggs from a local breeder. They have a cute little farm with mostly Heritage Breed and/or rare breed animals.
