I set 16 eggs on Sunday for the hatch!! And then there was an egg eater... Now down to 2 eggs but both are developing great!! They are set for day before Easter and another batch set for day after Easter!!

I candled today, it was day 7 for me. I mostly was justooking to see what I could see. I couldn't see anything that indicates a baby in either if the two I checked.

I was just practicing and did toss anything. I'll try it again in three or four fm days.

I need help!
Can someone please send me a private message, my post will get lost in this thread!
I have a little giant still air, I did not trust the digital thermometer so I added my own. Placed next to the eggs it reads 98, placed on top, right under the heater it reads 106! Please help I don't want to kill my eggs

Does anyone use the infrared thermometers, if so what do you suggest I buy?

I just have to see what the little buggers are up to. I saw little feet today.
Does anyone know why some have bigger air spaces than others?

I am always terrified of candling. I don't want to know how many duds, and I do not want to drop them. One time I carried the incubator to a bathroom to candle and I tripped and the eggs fell all over the floor. Carpeting--but the two that broke were GROSS and I had a terrible hatch I assume from them all getting jolted so hard. Therefore I am a non-candler type lol!

Well, my candle reminder went off for my first batch of call ducks, who had horribly beaten air cells, yet put up a good fight and tried to grow anyway. It is also candle & weigh day for my Easter Eggers.
So I'm throwing caution to the wind! I have a digital scale and a high candlepower LED flashlight and I am not afraid to use them!!
(And actually, after this they won't get candled until just before lockdown) My fabulously clean and fresh smelling geese are nearing the incubation halfway point, so there is really no point in messing with them since they will just be big blobs at this point, until they are ready to go into lockdown, when I will have to candle to make sure they are on schedule...

So later today I'm candling!!! Mwahahahaha!!!!
(And frankly, after weighing and peering into 35 eggs, I will be more than done for a while...) :lau
