Incubator Wars!
Breaking News Update
After an exhaustive search the cause of Amber's panic is still undetermined. Upon initial exam the seven remain eggs seemed cold but intact. A closer inspection and candling revealed that five of the eggs may have been damaged by the cold. It is not known how long the eggs were cold. Candling revealed veining but a lack of activity. Hoping beyond hope the Judge has decided to allow the eggs to remain in Contestant #2's incubator for the remainder of the hatch. After several failed attempts to coax young Amber back into her nest, it was decided to setup a nest-box/brooder-box in the house for a couple days. And to reward her efforts up to this point 12 1-week-old chicks were slipped under her only moments ago. Time will tell if she excepts the chicks as her own, but as of this HAL and incubator wars Amber has gracefully bowed out.

We started with three, but now there are two. Contestant #1 and Contestant #2 will continue on in the head to head competition. Let us hope that no more chaos plague this hatch.

Ok, this is a new one! LOL...I was wondering..how much longer, then he finally said it..I guess you boil for about 5 mins. ..then go 4 or 5 more..interesting.

Oh from Eunice? She is great and lives right down the road from me.

I don't know yet. I looked up on Craig's what was available. I am waiting for her response to a question of mine. There is supposed to be a hatch of both breeds this weekend. If I reserve all, I get them for a good price. Which is a better option for me with my bad incubation experience. But I have to hear back from her. :) it would be cool if you knew her...it's a small world after all!

I'm out. A friend of DH was over with his kids this weekend and they were not adequately supervised (I was not home) and one of them turned up the incubator to 120 and cooked everything inside. I am super bummed because there were 13 project eggs in there that it took me 2 weeks to collect.

Food goes in your stomach silly. The baby is in the room. My 3 year old calls the womb the baby room.

Yeah I am in my first trimester of pregnancy....there is no food going into this stomach...myI called .mt husband to tell him I was pregnant and he got home from work and started unloading crackers, ginger ale, and not one but TWO packages of Ginger Lozenges...this is our fourth pregnancy...I was barely sick with the first and then we lost it...with every one since I have been sick as a dog and glad of it because it is the hormones that make me sick. More hormone = stronger baby. So I will gladly live on crackers and Lozenges.

Oh my that is just awful. So sorry to hear that. Makes my one cracked egg I dropped seem like nothing.

I hope you try again soon. And give all those kiddos a real good talking to.
