Found the first 2 turkey eggs of the season tonight

One was broke (likely stepped on) but

I also posted this on the turkey thread so I apologize to those that follow both and are seeing a repeat post.

Looking at flashlights to candle dark Marans eggs. How many lumens do I need?

All of them!

It may sound odd but I have an easier time candling dark eggs in full sunlight (early morning/late evening) than with any flashlight. I just make a cardboard screen with a hole for the lower sash of the window, and lower the shade on the upper sash.

It's that tan egg. Perhaps I scould of set it at Serama time?

What kind of turkeys do you have? I have blue palms and their eggs are a bit more pointed on the small end but about the same color as your turkey's egg.

I have Bourbon Reds. My turkey eggs are also very rounded on top and pointy on the bottom. I think the shape is off because she is a new layer this year, her eggs will get to normal soon

Your incubator may be running a bit warmer, which will mean they may hatch a bit early. The egg looks fine, there is still some room in there for the chick to finish growing.
