That is an awesome pic!
Thanks. Gotta love the macro setting. It only took about 30 shots to get 1 good one.

What kind is is?

Either you temp is too low or your humidity is. My first chick wouldn't hatch until I fixed the temp. It will hatch on its own.
I did wake up to humidity being 45 and borough back up to 60. Of course now that I've finally asked about it she's started to make some progress to hatch out. I should have asked sooner so she would be here already! LOL. Thanks guys and to those I didnt quote too, huge huge help!

It's an EE. It even has a beard. It's the first one I have ever successfully hatched.

Awww congratulations! I love the EE's! They are so cute I ordered 8 and waited a month for them to hatch and wanted them to be tudors for my turkey poults till they are old enough to start laying. Well someone on a fb page saw my posting for poults for sale and wants my ee's!

Officially went into lock down an hour ago. I'm pretty sure one has died, but since I've been wrong about that before, I've decided to leave it in with the rest. Hatch day is saturday, so I took friday off of work. Now I wish I'd taken thursday as well. It's not wrong that all I want to do is sit in front of the incubator and stare at the eggs, right? As it is, thursday is the day I visit with my mother after work, so I probably should go in. She neither understands, nor appreciates my chicken addiction, so there's no way I can postpone the visit until the hatch is over.

I'm wondering right now what to do with my cats. The incubator has been on the dining room table since a week after the HAL started, when I discovered the room I had it in was fluctuating temperature too much. Now, the cats have nicely ignored it, but I suspect that might change once it starts peeping. I'm thinking of locking them up until all the chicks are safetly in the brooder room, but they won't like that. Anybody have experience with cats being around their incubators?

@ronott1 I can not find info you posted about lowering temps during lock down. Tks
Here's my lock down setup
Wait until you see the first pip and then lower the temperature to 98.5. You can go as low as 97 but 98.5 is still safe incubation temperatures.

Those are very pretty eggs!
