Congratulations on your chicks! That is very nice of them to send you some eggs!

I just got a PM from the BYCer who sold me my very first chickens. He has a special place in my heart for that reason alone. He said he sent me eggs to hatch!! They should be here just in time to rest for a day while I get the incubator reset after my EHAL babies are hatched!! Yay more chickies!

That is so very nice! I hope you get a great hatch from them.

Finally done with lockdown. All 52 that had made it past the Day 14 candling still look good although couple of them have started looking a little behind their age group. I saw at least 2 internal pips on the Barnevelders. I thought they were supposed to hatch a day later. And of course, there is that one which I dropped and cracked. What's strange is that all the Legbars have become quiet. That happened in my last hatch as well and then only 3 out of 7 that went into lockdown hatched. I am hoping for better results this time.

So I moved all the eggs that had air sacs drawn already into the PI-24 that has humidity fluctuating between 65-75%. The ones that seem on time or a little behind are in the Brinsea with humidity stable at 65%

Fingers crossed now!

Can someone post a pic of Welsummer chicks. I want to be able to separate them from my Barnevelders and some Barnevelder hybrids.

Good Luck on your hatch! I hope the Cream Legbars hatch well for you. This seems to be more of a mentioned issue with CL not making it past lock down. I hope you have many hatch

I was supposed to go into lockdown last night but I got tired lol I will lockdown today day 19.

While the nested quotes don't bug me too much, I do wish there was a setting limit on how many to include. I would like to be able to include just the 2 most recent.

The extreme multiple users all multi quoting the same pictures over and over again is more of an annoyance to me. It will be happening in this thread soon too.
Someone will post an adorable, lovely or funny picture of a chick and it will be size medium or large. Then at least 10-12 other people will quote that picture and it gets re-posted. I try to remember to resize pictures in the quotes when I post but I miss a few. Its something to consider.
My problem with the re-posting of photos is my bandwidth, we've got the lowest that DISH offers because of price and will always run out 1-2 weeks ahead of our allotment and they slow us down to near dial-up for the remainder of the month. I thought there was a way to change my preferences to dump photos but I could only find a way to dump signatures and avatars.

I can't remember how to resize a photo, can you remind me?

Out of 14, I only have 2 left & they are iffy. On the other hand, set duck eggs 2 weeks ago & out of 12... 9 are doing very well. Lots of growth & movement. :) Think I got some kinks out of my diy bator.

Curse of the brighter flashlight. I see more stuff. What's up with this? 18 days today. The other half of the egg is dark. I have a few of these. 2 had movement and I put them in the hatcher with ? on them. This one and another, that isn't quite this bad, I left in the incubator with 3 eggs that aren't ready to be moved yet (turner still on). One of those 3 is almost totally dark. I finally found a light spot, but it's not where the air cell should be. This is a friend's egg, some are mine. None are related or eat the same feed. Should I wait on these, toss them, put them in the hatcher? BTW, all have normal air cells, except the dark egg.
Looks like it didn't develop.

I have two pips visible this morning! I can't wait to see what hatches. I set Seramas. I had three that didn't start and one that quit early when they went into lockdown.

Congrats everyone on the pips and the chicks!
So cute!
I set late Friday night of the set weekend, so mine went into lockdown last night. My temps have been a bit cool and humidity was very hard to regulate, so I'm not sure about my hatch at all.. I'll have to live vicariously through you folks for at least a couple more days.

What does "air sac drawn" mean? How can you see an internal pip?
