My new babies are here! Their layer mom is a sex link and dad is one of three roosters but I am pretty sure it is the Delaware. The other roosters are silkies and these babies only have 4 toes. The yellow one is Freddie and the black one is Jaysin! They were laid on Friday the 13th so I had to give them appropriate names! LOL The mom who hatched and will be raising them is a silkie named Elvis (or Woody is you listen to the children) and she has been wonderful!

Congratulations they are very cute!

So Friday is the dry I set the eggs and so this Tuesday night I stopped turning them but didn't raise the humidity. Last night after asking advice I raise it to between 60-70. I woke up at about 11 pm to incessant cheeping. I figured a chick in the brooder es stuck so I went to check and realized it was coming from the bator! One of my Marans had hatched and a Americana was pipped! This morning the Americana was out but still wet and another was pipped. Another Marans had also pipped. A few hours later it is out too and another Marans has pipped. So much for the Marans hatching late!

Internal pips can only be seen by candling.

Many people trace the developing air sac with a pencil, while candling it. Also, it helps to set the egg with the lowest dip in the air cell pointing up.

An internal pip is a sign the chick is getting ready: when you candle at lockdown, you can sometimes see the tip of the beak inside the air sac part of the egg.

Thanks lol. I did trace mine I thought it was a term I hadn't heard. I need coffee! I guess I would've noticed if any of mine had internal pips?
Hi @Mama Bay "air sac drawn" means that the chick has pulled the air sac down to one side and its no longer round. Its not a small pull, you can really see the difference. That happens a day or so before the hatch. After that the chick makes a hole in the air sac to breathe and that is called an internal pip. You can see internal pips on candling if the chick is moving.

Ok so it was a new to me term! I did see a couple like that on the shipped ages you gave me but I thought it was further saddling! I candled them while in cartons because I was terrified I would drop one so I could've easily missed internal pips...
