Thank you so much!! I know you aren't suppose to open the incubator, but my humidity is up to 89%. Is that ok or do I need to try and fix that?

I do it anyways. Or i put dry rice in though a hole. I just opened my bator to add water bc my humidity was LOW at 50! Im not sure if i have a chick shrink wrapped or not...

Did any of the Australorp crosses hatch yet? Both of mine are out now and both are black with whiteish eyeliner...

Not yet, not even a pip. My hatch day for them doesn't start till midnight though so I still have hope.

So far I'm at 12 babies, 1 bcm, 1 blue or splash maran, and 9 of my own mixed babies.

Looks like one more copper maran is starting also, which is unusual for me..... After the initial explosion I usually don't get anymore. Go baby go!

Had a chick and a pip when I left to help dh feed the neighbors cows this morning, went to the shopper to get coffee on our way home and they had 2 huge bins labeled assorted bantams! And an unlabeled bin, I peeked in and it was baby ducks! But I resisted! We came home and the pip was now a chick! 5 more to go!

I just took one egg out to help a chick who had gotten itself into a bad position. It had 1 leg out and head still in so it would not have been able to crack the egg with one leg flailing outside. The trick is that the humidity has to go back up very quickly. You have like a minute to do what you want. If it helps spray the incubator walls. That will bring it up really quickly.

I have 17 hatched from the 18 eggs that made it to lockdown The last egg showing no action at all

Out of the 28 that made it to lock down, we have 10 (mix of OE, and BCM's) that have hatched and moved over to the brooder. We have 1 of 6 SFH that pipped this morning, but nothing going on since then, and it is driving my daughter crazy. The coolest chick so far appears to be a silver OE, but I am really hoping to get a few SFH's from this batch.
