i think i have about 160 right now in the incubator, and more arriving this week, dont tell my LANDLORD!!

Yea! Northern California. My brother-in-law lives in Sacramento area. I live in North GA. Plenty of rain right now, but who knows for how long. We all need to conserve, beginning NOW!

One of my chicks that hatched at about 1 am this morning has since imprinted on me. I am his/her mommy. WIN! I think I'm going to name it lemon

Febreeze discovered he is photogenic

He has mastered the handsome goose look. He is sitting on Tide, who only hatched this morning, and therefore has not realized the power of the cute goose face yet...

Holy cow, look at that face!. And I gave him his name too!

ah right, that's why we breed chickens... more eggs = more chickens. I can be a right numpty at times, I thought it was about growing the pretty ones =8-D.
I like the idea of record keeping for each hen progeny. I feel an experiment on the way...

Hmmmmm, I have about 15 dozen eggs in my fridge right now. My egg customers need to buy more eggs! (And I need to get rid of some culls)

oh my gosh! 15 dozen eggs... that's quite a lot. I think maybe it's time to diversify, perhaps tempera production for local artists. either that or cake production. I vote the latter!

are easter eggers a real breed or does it mean fluffies born of questionable parentage? if it's the latter then I have 6 of those over the past couple of days. all I know about mine is they are yellow, facial markings make them look like really grumpy old men and one has fluffy legs all the way to it's feet (named seagull because it sounds like one) whilst the others are standard scaly legs. but being my first they are all beauties and I adore them. marans are beautiful too, I love the marbled look, quite a regal looking bird.
