We are always here if you need to talk. ALWAYS. I hope that if you don´t do it this year, next year you should. I hope you feel better.I am sorry guys I don't think I can join again this year. Last year I got so caught up in the broodiness that the next thing I new...
I was PREGNANT!!
It was such a shock and a surprise I actually told everyone on here about it before I even told my husband. I had a great time chatting with everyone and seeing all the baby chick pictures and talking about my pregnancy but...
the pregnancy ended at 6 months when my son Dominic was stillborn, and now everytime I think about the Easter Hatch a Long I remember posting about my pregnancy and...I just don't think I can do it this year...I want to...I planned to...but I am sitting here on the couch crying my eyes out.
I will post closer to the setting day if I decided to join after all.
Somehow I missed your post last night...I'm sorry about that!!
That's very interesting about the color as well, I love paint Silkies (well paint anything...lol) so yes, very helpful...thank you!
The getting of Easter Eggers was not really planned, so I'm can't take any credit there...lol. I had just wanted a few yard chickens and I got 1 pair of EEs with the assortment of chickens that were being given away. I've since become addicted to incubating and well...here I am.I just happened to replace the predated stock with EE chicks that are lay green/pink/tan eggs. My own pair lay blue and every one of them has been as tough as nails. I'm beyond impressed! With 30 years of breeding and genetics under my belt...I can't wait to develop the flock I have in my head.![]()

Dodie, I love that!! Very fitting. She's beautiful...her comb reminds me of some of the combs on my Silkie crosses. Are all of your Dalmatians spotted? I'm not as familiar with the breed, but they can come as solids too?

I noticed the discussion about the pullet eggs last night. I set everything I get...lol! I even set the teeny tiny micro pullet eggs from my tiny OEGB pullets. I successfully hatched chicks. Select the best chicks that have the traits that you want. Select the very best and eventually you will end up with the very best.![]()
These are from the BYC NY HAL
These are the OEGB chicks from the pullets and hen (the smaller ones) taken Jan 19th.
All the recent pics, the EEs are standing in the way...![]()
