Awwww... Is it sad that I'm sitting home ALL week next week in the hopes of catching a hatch on video? My daughter has worked so hard on her little class video these past 2 weeks. She's only 8 and already teaching a class of 3rd graders on the process of incubating chicken eggs. We even recorded the collection process of the final eggs just so she could say she did it. We marked those 3 and all 3 are showing great signs of growing... Well just turned day 15 according to the incubator counter. Lockdown Monday hatching on Thursday if all goes as planed. I hope she gets to see them zip.
Temp has been 99.5 to 100 the whole time. Can I open the door quickly to add water to the tray? I have a Sportsman 1502 without the extra water bucket.. I am worried about it going dry. I have been having to fill it every other day at 50%. Now that I have raised it with the pad it is going fast!
and all the best with your hatch
Yes, you can add water---and the sportsman will recover humidity quickly.
Post pictures of the chicks when they hatch!
That is what I thought and why I was afraid I would miss it while I am at work tomorrow. I am so glad that some decided to not read the calendar and come meet me a day early!!
Thank you!! I will definitely post pic when I transfer them to the brooder.
What are you setting?
I only have 13 hens currently I'm trying not to add too many more...
I agree very funny lol
