Hoping this Pemier 1 brooder plate will be WAY cheaper to use than this 250 watt heat lamp. Also ordered a couple stock tank de-icers for my bucket waterers so i can quit with the constant 70 watt bulb i'm using now.

I've scheduled a setting for 2/23, so I won't be in on the special day, but I'm still interested in following the thread. I just ordered 2 Primier 1 heat plates after reading the convo here, my current hatch of 96 is due to go into the brooder sometime after the 27th.

The first poults of the year are here! I woke up to 3 babies in the bator running around horrible picture, I know but my tablet doesn't do any better.

Well, I'm setting silkiess tomorrow I guess. I'm waiting to hear that the road is clear to my friend's house to pick them up.
I'm looking for either dark brown or blue eggs, so CCL or Marans would be ideal
