I completely forgot about this. I actually got an unbroken Marans egg! I know it doesn't count for the hatch. I'm just checking it for fertility. I've been waiting a while to get one before they managed to break it.

Im going to enjoy Ameri-flowers!Here are some of the pictures I grabbed. Please know that these are the shots BEFORE they are website ready(poop removed, etc) so don't judge them too harshly please.According to the photographer all of these chicks thought that the "stage" was a perfect place to poop before their big debut.

I'm in!! 42 eggs total set. 24 Welsummer, 18 mixed breeds.
I was thinking about taking out my turner but I only overfilled my bator by 6 eggs and I have been rotating out the 6 so I think it's okay.
We had a bantam hatchery golden laced sebright mix(that's right he was even pure) idk what he was mixed with though. He was bigger than our other bantams but not quite large fowl size. His name was Coco and he's was one of our favorite chicks always wanting attention. When he went through puberty about 16 weeks he matured he went crazy and we could go outside without him stalking and attacking us. He was so aggressive that after he clawed up my legs in a relentless attack and we made the decision to cull him we finally had to do it with a gun. It was quick and painless but you could get close to him let alone handle him. Our current flock master is a slw cockeral who is on a cull list for mild aggressive behavior that has been slowly escalating. Sadly he stops and then starts again but we too have young nieces and nephews and we don't want to risk it. However I will say that he has only ever come at my mother and myself.Way too many fantastic roosters out there to keep a bad one. What a horrible thing to happen to your sister. I've been hit at hip level by a mixed breed cockerel, and I'm 5'8" tall. That is face level for a child. Just not worth it. The day this male went for my head when I was filling up a waterer was the day he was gone. For some reason, he just had an issue with me. He was fine with my husband, my kids and even strangers........but I went into the run and it was game on. Did you calibrate your hygrometer? They sound very interesting. Looking forward to pictures.
