That's awful!! If a seller won't guarantee fertility, then why are they selling eggs? Eggs are always a gamble but if you're going to sell "Hatching Eggs" and then say "Can't guarantee fertility" it sounds like a scam. So sorry you're dealing with that kind of nonsense. If u were in VA I would give u some of our English Orp eggs.

OK, so i did some reading and i decided to put my eggs more upright since most of the air cells move so must be detached. I took some pictures so if someone more experienced could let me know if they look about normal for 5 days or if they are likely not developing that would help my anxiousness a little. Should I still turn them as often? Do I need to worry about the eggs exploding if they are bad or not until later? I plan to candle them next on day 10, is that ok? thanks for helping us newbies

I heard a chirp last night in my bantam barred rock eggs. Checked again before bed, looks like there is a tiny pip ... at the wrong end. Little stink. It is one with a good air cell. So now I am really worried about these. Quite a few have real bad air cells, running up one side and another up the other side. :/

I've had several wrong way pippers hatch just fine on their own.

They shouldn't explode, I've left clears in my incubator before until hatch. (I don't always candle until the end) Now, if it's seeping, get rid of it. If you are in doubt, leave it in the incubator.

As in if I cleaned one it would be black?!

We processed 4 Silkie cockerels last fall that I had hatched and couldn't sell. They were very weird looking plucked chickens - almost a purple color!
