Ya I went outside and he was just eating her. Wasn't even scared of me. But I'm pretty sure he won't be back. I scared him off pretty good. Hopefully he or no more come back to the area.

What did they win?

I did have an ameraucana/ australorp mix hen. She was black with a pea comb and just a hint of a beard. Good layer. I expected her to lay greenish eggs but she ended up laying blue eggs instead.

See we were hoping the Ameraucana/Aussies would lay green eggs. Hmm, we'll see!

OK update on day 13 candling:

To recap started with 92, removed 8 clear on day 4, down to 84.

Today's candle removed 10 deceased, clouded like they were growing but no veining. 5 Marans were iffy (my gut say they quit), but left them in just in case due to the dark shell.

So that leaves 74 in the incubators, 69 alive and growing at this time.

All but 1 of the quitters & iffys were in the attic bator, so it's the environment not the egg.

On another note I overlooked some eggs dated 2-22 in the downstairs bathroom so said what the heck and set 9 of them on 3-11. That made them 18 days old at set. I just candled them today and removed 2 clears leaving 7 growing! Just some info for thought for anyone setting old eggs. I'm sure its not recommended though.

I see everyone candling their eggs and I keep telling myself I'm going to wait until day 14 (tomorrow)....
Placing bets now that I break down and candle tonight.... I'm betting against myself
