The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Hello, I finally caught up after 30 pages... Twizzler is protecting her eggs, but not committed yet, I am hoping she goes broody tomorrow so they would hatch on Valentine's Day. She is warm on the belly, and has her best built.... Welcome all of the new folks, and good luck on your hatches everyone that has some in lockdown...

Oh geeze! I meant to add a pic with my last post. Here's my quail waterer in case it helps someone. I got mine from an independent feed store in the city. I didn't know they were quail waterers...lol. I've never seen anymore like this since. I really like mine and they're easier to move around without spilling.
I bought one at the TSC here, and I am just waiting to get my eggs for the hatch along and see if any hatch...

Ok, that's funny! I didn't see that you'd posted this. Somehow I missed it.
Now I'm not just irrelevant...I'm redundant too!

I bought a quail base like the on in the picture from the Tractor store.

A microwave turner...I like that idea! It would make turning eggs much simpler! I also LOVE free...free is good!! And you cover it to insulate it. I'm interested to see how you like it. I'm envious of your thermostat. I bought wafers, just because of availability and time.

Now that I've see the brinseas...being plastic like they are (I made a bator out of a white styro cooler), I'm trying to think outside the box.

I was going to get turners and put them in lower type clear tote. But now I'm thinking of taking the top short drawers (to maximize eggs) of a tower (or towers)

and putting them in a HUGE clear tote. And I figured cover it like you're planning. Make it work for both incubating and hatching with exchangeable drawer inserts.

BUT I haven't gotten to the conception stage yet. I want to make something super easy to clean. And I think I prefer the eggs incubating on their sides...probably because I started that way. But nothing's written in stone.
