Interesting. I always remove the broken shells, even from the Broodies, but when using the incubator I also remove chick that completely detached from thier shells as soon as I have 2, as each one gets to over 10 mins old. I have some peeping in the bator right now.12 hour hatch window for the projects and legbar, best window yet! Only one egg early DIS I pulled...
serama are doing nothing, I think I screwed up by setting them in three days instead of two cause I am dumb and forgetful probably gonna drown cause of the high humidity. but time will tell! I FOUND A BIG NO NO in hatching, This was the first time I pulled empty shells out early. first time EVER! I had a trampled chick and it looks like they pulled his umbilical strings at hatch, he must have bled and they just had a pecking field day on him after that. Had the shells been in there, it probably would have given him some space to hatch and dry up because he would have been surrounded by empty shells and in some "cover" he is actually in this image, I didnt see him until I checked the serama.
