Really really ticked off today!!! I asked my youngest son (17) to go out and open up my brooder coop so my broody that is on day 19 can get out to stretch her legs if she wants. Well he decided he should try and candle one of the eggs, and dropped it!! A 6 foot fall a broken egg and a beautiful barred rock chick ruined!!! That kid will be shoveling sh-t all spring now. Took me 3 tries to get this incubation stuff right and this ugggggg.

I know you are mad and I am very sorry about your egg.

It could happen to anyone - I have done it myself. Just remember, you can get more Barred Rock eggs, but your son is not replaceable.

I've got a late entry: 11 svarthona eggs, yay! Thanks to an auction by @KYTinpusher, thank you! Beautiful packaging! All arrived safe with intact air cells! I highly recommend KYTinpusher and USPS special handling!

Things have settled down here and the rest of the chicks are doing well, which is so nice. Broody hens are such good mothers but they can be so chaotic too.

Some of my eggs ready for the hatch a long. I still have 2 more days to collect lol.

Question I'm starting eggs in my incubator. And for the first few days in gonna turn them by hand. I ordered a auto turner that will be here soon. Will there be any problems from going from hand turning them then transferring them to a auto turner in a couple days?

There shouldn't be. Installing the turner might be complicated if the incubator is already on (I'm not sure how that all works) but as far as turning is concerned I don't tihnk there should be a problem.

Building another incubator, and if I can get it up no instructions, foreign language, but it's worth a try!

If you homemade turner doesn't work the R-Com cabinet auto turner fits the coolers.

I was going to just get the one from TSC but measured the one in the Genesis 1588 & it's just a little too big.
Searched for the Rcom egg turner & only found the complete incubators.
