I got a dozen barnyard mixes from @Myfourladies and they all came in awesome shape and packed really well. I'm not sure what is going to hatch from them but that is half the fun! I haven't candled them yet, but I'm excited to do so!

I have five eggs in the incubator already. I'm not sure what day they are on because I took them out from under my broody hen when I gave them her chicks. They're probably about half-way to hatching.
I'm hoping to incubate these twelve shipped to me and a few of my own for the EHAL, so probably around 12-20.

Ok Sally, I'm gonna tag along, though I don't think I will be able to participate in the 'big hatch' since my broodies rarely follow silly human schedules. We do have 2 broodies setting on Easter Egger eggs though, due on the 20th. If I get a surprise broody this weekend though we'll join 'officially', lol

Sounds like a lot of people are getting eggs today! :) I went and picked up some eggs for the Easter Hatch-along today as well! 45 minute drive one way, but so worth it! I only ordered/paid for 2 dozen and the lady gave me 9 extras! :yesss: Here is a picture of them... The middle ones are Bielefelders, to their right are Jubilee Orpingtons, with one extra Jubilee on the bottom left, and the 8 on the top left are Swedish Flower Hens! So excited to try these new breeds for the Hatch-along!!!:yiipchick I will be setting these tomorrow morning along with some of my own backyard flocks' eggs.
Where'd you get them? And do they ship? ;) lol you guys make this so hard when DH2B is telling me I don't need any more breeds right now. He also doesn't understand my quest for true blue layers and a darker blue would be great! We currently have a very pale blue laying EE and a blue to blue green laying EE... Must have blue... He also us regretting telling me I could up our flock number by ten birds this year putting us at 40, I figured I could slide under the radar with 41-42. Today he told me that just because he had upped the number I could have didn't mean I had to have that many birds... Someone please tell him that's exactly what that means. :) I know you all understand lol
I'll go look it up in my mail box. I went to e-bay to post if they had any, but didn't see them. Here is one of the girls from that last hatch, well. . will post one with three in it too.
Your EE look just like some of our girls from Cackle hatchery that we got through our local farm and fleet store. Love love love them.
I believe she mentioned they are Easter Eggers but I could be wrong. I have 2 Easter Eggers myself and they are wonderful birds, albeit a little skittish. Mine are hatchery birds
Wait until they start laying to really judge their temperaments. Our girls were skittish at first too despite being handled with gentleness and care their whole lives they're ten months this month and they have all calmed down tremendously. Two are like dogs and follow us around and the other two are very sweet and easy to handle. They used to be nearly impossible to catch. We've been planning on getting more from the same stock this year.(see above comment)

Here are two of our EE girls left is Olive and the right is Violet.
I always kept mine on did you have more ice than water in your water bath? can you compare it to your home thermostat at room temp? just to be sure?
By that point I may have had more water than ice but I also had the incubator heater running too although I tried to angle that away. I now have the calibrated thermometer/hygrometer in there on the far side from the heating element and the greatest difference I've seen between the two thermometers was 1.5 degrees which the calibrated one doesn't do decimals so not too bad huh? I'm excited, should be setting tomorrow!
Got the eggs from Franchesca Duval today in CA.:celebrate They are intact!!!:weee Air air cells are wobbly, but not free floating. Only a couple look like they may be saddle. PTL. I'm at 50% now. Egg order from OR. should arrive tomorrow.
What kinds of eggs are these?
My eggs arrived!!!!

not dark enough to candle them yet. Will be setting 9 Ameraucana and 4 Dominique On other notes the Turken pullets I took a chance on seem to be much better behaved than the previous owner reported. Look at my new girls' eggs :)

Well got my eggs from mypetchicken love the assortment beautiful eggs but no lavender Ameracaunas this time around. :( I really wanted a pullet but I guess there's always next time hope I can find some sometime.
Only when I have a ton of eggs or I'm being really lazy. The 4 empty spots are bothering me. May have to update my total to 90 tomorrow.
I agree fill the four empty slots they're driving me crazy from here.
