This morning they actually started building a nest!

It would be funny if the female (Nutty) laid eggs in time for the H-A-L

. Not very likely though

, knowing her she'd probably purposely delay laying eggs til after the set date (I won't tell her there is a two day widow for setting eggs

)

Heritage breeds of turkeys (day-olds) tend to sell for $10-$15, Broad Breasted bronze and B-B whites sell for about $8 (around here).

Yay for the silver quail!!! My silvers are hatching today, 3 are out so far!

(but one is just normal brown with stripes)

My silvers are over 2 weeks old now and all the body feathers are in, starting on head feathers. Great variety in appearances. I need to get photos. Congrats!

Awesome! So far 5 of mine hatched but one died so 4 right now, plus 2 more eggs left that are pipping. 1 looks like a silver

, 1 normal (pharaoh), 1 range and 1 golden. Did you have any ones that looked like goldens as babies but developed rare cool colored feathers?

I am really hoping the last 2 eggs hatch and are silvers or some other rare color

Ok, so I made the two day after deadline! I set 12 Jubile or ping ron eggs and 10 black copper marans/ jubilee orpington crosses.

Been holding off hoping my shipped eggs would show today. If the PO doesn't call I will be setting from my own flock. I'll post numbers when/if the shipped eggs show.
