$19 an egg ?! OMG they are nuts ! A leghorn over a wheaten or an EE or an Auracana (sp) would do the same

Ok wrong thread but bent toe advice please (breeder of the sick pullet I got offered equivalent value in new hatchlings and they don't have coccidiosis) got this polish for free cause of his foot (same length wing feathers, think cockerel)

Get a band aid cut off tape end and set the chicks foot on it straightened then use the other tape end to put on top, pushing easily between toes so tape meets. Instant splint, cast, orthotic.

That is per chicks straight run.  Pullets are $2 more.  Did you see the prices on the CCL and Pure Ams?  They are way over priced.  I sell am chicks lavender and good quality for $6 a chicks straight run and CCL's pullets for $10.

Day 14 on my English Orpingtons. Pulled and candled all 18 eggs from Lot's 'A' Cluckin' Farms. Had 13 clear, 1 yolk broke and 4 developing. Cracked all clears and they were NOT fertile, even got it on video.

I get to go to a swap Saturday! I am so excited! It's for 2 of my local chicken groups. I'm taking some Silkie eggs since they're the only thing that has 100% fertility right now. I am so ready to get more eggs. I have an empty bator that needs eggs!

You can get the leghorns just about anywhere and EEs are everywhere too, so have fun and make ur own.

That reminds me ! I am going to my first swap at the feed store this Saturday ! My first ever and there probably won't be a lot of people but it will still be my first.

You don't need to shell out a ton. Just buy Donna's SBEL eggs. The pullet I kept from last year's hatch lays at least 21 days in a row before taking a day off. Powerhouse large blue egg layers!

No secrets.  You can make SBEL with a WL and any blue egg layer.  The cross will not matter.  The Sapphires are a similar cross but you use a Crested Cream Legbar and WL.  Either way the cross produces White chicks. (Well I have some WL crosses and they will produces some colored chicks)

Those prices are CRAZY.  I sell eggs for $25 a doz and chicks (local pickup only) for $6 each.  They are not worth $25 a chick....

I don't think I made the first cross.  There were several of us that made SBEL about the same time.  I don't know how long they have been making Sapphires in Europe but that is where that name comes from.

I know right!?!? It is insane!! And I have found with Meyer and likey MPC too with certian color Orps that they're pretty expensive whereas breeders sell them for much less. Or sometimes there are "rare" breeds they overcharge for and they arent even rare or at least not as rare as some breeds. Crazy. I believe they used to have SBEL hatching eggs but not chicks and that the live chicks are new this year. If I'm ever allowed to have a roo i might try breeding them
