Well, tried to hatch some a month ago but they all died at lockdown so I'm just gonna wait a bit 'til the coop is built and go nutzo at the feed store...

Coz I want them, that's why. Can't find Magpies here but I tried Anconas and will try again later this year, I hope.

But anyway, yeah I think EEs are different cause they're smaller, gentle and flighty too. I've actually been told they shouldn't be in flocks with heavier birds either lol personally I think it depends on the birds. You could say any bird doesn't belong together. One of mine is lowest on the order and does get bullied but has recently started laying again and is climbing back up the order. The other has always been a little bit higher but still fairly low but does fine. She bosses some of the others around when she can. And I think most of the issues are due to not enough space anyway. That's awesome about the little silkies holding their own! Lol

I've been trying to breed some size into my EEs with my sweet boy, Lemondrop. He's an Australorp mix. I have several of those eggs ready for the HAL.

He's a big sweetie, too. So gentle and sweet with the girls. He keeps me company whenever I'm outside. And when I ask him if he's ready to go let the girls out he gets all excited and runs straight to the run, chattering away the whole time, and waits for me to open the gate.
