The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

Kinda late to the party, but I would like to join.

How early can we set our eggs and still count for the Hatch-a-long? I just got 2 sets of shipped eggs in today that are resting after a long trip and a scenic tour of several states.

Hi cree...

I set mine tonight. 2 days early.

Are quail hard to hatch out have been thinking about some button quail like I had years ago I had the cutest pair

I did some. Seems a lot are always sent. I had a lot, only got a few..that's me..and my only time. Buttons! They were so cute! Others can tell you more, but here are my cuties.

My set up. Got a nice cage, thought I would keep them in the house. Silly me!

Getting bigger...

And bigger...
Still not very big, but they needed to be somewhere else. I ended up giving mine away to someone that had a big bird aviary.

I kept the cage. I've had a canary in it, and Society finches since.

I had my pair for about 6 years sweet as could be had a cage in the house too but not a problem love the calls they made! Always wanted to try but wouldn't buy an incubator (old school) not for just two or three birds now I have chickens and an incubator I was wondering again I'm retired now and could sit back and enjoy them more now! Build a nice little coo for them! Outside with heat and maybe some normal quail too had a friend when I was growing up raising quail and yours look sweet and I had only a few eggs but they were TINY!!

Depends on how old they are. Generally speaking the older they get the less likely they are to hatch, but you don't really start to lost viability for 10 to 14 days after they're laid.

You could set them today if you wanted and they'd still count for the Easter hatch :)

I'm going to contact the seller also to ask her. I bought them Sunday and she shipped on Monday. So maybe they were laid on Saturday??
