The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

We have set 6 buff orpington, 12 black and cuckoo araucana and 8 part bred orpington home breds. Fingers crossed, children very excited for Easter weekend! Good luck everyone.

Is anyone else using a hen to hatch? Am I supposed to use an incubator? If so, I have a hen that will be very angry! And yes, she bites.

I'm in. Broody starting eggs today and incubator is full.

I'm trying another round of shipped eggs after zero hatch on my last attempt. I put 5 silkie eggs I won in a raffle under a broody at noon, plus two more into the incubator and 14 blue partridge brahma along with those as soon as my incubator calms down. I've been trying to stabilize it the last 17 hrs, and it keeps going up to 102°when I nudge it down a little it goes to 99°. Kind of wish I didn't sterilize it, the temps were fine before I cleaned it out. That's 21 eggs set here today yay Easter chicks! Can't wait to see what everyone hatches!
