Candled today and 25 chicken eggs still looking really good. 1 duck egg is going strong, 3 more are a maybe but not looking as good as the the other one.just have to wait and see.

Seeing all the pictures of candling makes my day! I just finished checking mine, and am happy to report seeing wiggles in all 16! I'm getting really excited for this hatch!

The chicks have already begun popping out of their shells! 1 RIR/EE mix and 1 Dominique so far.




Look at the comb! Less than a day old and already very pink! What are the odd that this Dominique chick is a rooster?

As it turns out, if I take the case off my phone it makes a great candling light. Good enough to see development in a Welsummer egg.

I tape a cardboard ring to my iPhone so it surrounds the flashlight and the egg can safely sit there hands off on the counter, then I use DH's phone as a second light and candle from the top, too...amazing!

ok I have to go candle again, I have a domicker I hatched last year and she is a mix look very dom and so thought she would be laying brown eggs, nope she lays green eggs, crazy huh

Never thought of using two lights.
I use a three D battery led mag light. It's like a spot light.
