The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

That is really good for shipped eggs!

Sometimes shipped eggs will not develop because of shipping stress. It is not always because the eggs were not fertile.

True, but they were completely clear when I received them. It could also have been the week and a half it took him to mail them to me after payment, too. :rant

All eggs are completely clear until about three days of incubation.

You can tell if you crack them open to see if there was a bullseye though.

Poor packing and shipping stress can kill the embryo before it develops.

I suspect though that the eggs you were sent were not fertile. that happens often with ebay

We are hatching something else besides chickens in this family! Another grandchild. :yaView attachment 1320768

Eeek!!!! Yay! Congratulations! To them and you guys. :) I love the shirts.

In case it was missed the first time. 7 Sebastopol goslings successfully hatched!View attachment 1321131View attachment 1321131

Still drooling over your littles. The pair I met were elderly and didn't lay anymore but they were so nice. I was attacked by my baby sitters 30+ geese when I was very small so I'm hesitant around them. The sebastopols were very calm and put me at ease. I didn't think Sebastopols came in any colors but white though.

My last hatch of the Easter Day 2018. Came out of the incubator about 8 pm.

Check out the caramel ooze that formed from slowly incubating for hours on end. The brown sugar was part of the Brine Cure that soaked into the project and slowly seeped out during the smoking/steaming.
That's not burn, it's smokey caramel.View attachment 1321339 Successful indeed. Squirting juice. Have you hugged your local pig farmer lately?View attachment 1321345

Oh
My
Gosh

Yummy

Oh goodness must eat ham lol

In other news one of our two little quaily poos was out first thing this morning(must have popped like popcorn because I never saw a pip even)I'm just hoping it's buddy hatches.

Oh and guess what? It's white. White I tell you. What the heck I wanted brown. Oh well at least it's super duper cute. I can't see a pip in the other egg but chickich knocked it down.

We've been having problems stabilizing the humidity in our super super dry spring air.

Nice!

We get very dry here in the Spring and Summer too

Yeah being in Wisconsin it's usually extremely dry in the winter and spring before the rains come.

We've only had one maybe two good rains so far and this week we are only in the 30s all week. Ick. Of course if you don't like the weather in Wisconsin wait five minutes it will change. LOL
That proves true more often than not.

Worried about the roses and cherry we planted with this cold. Not to mention the hydrangeas we also purchased to plant outside. LoL seems like Easter being early has thrown everything plant-wise out of whack.

Here we had too much rain and cold during the almond bloom. Watch out for high Almond and almond milk prices next year! There was very heavy damage this year and California produces most of the Worlds Almond crop

Here's my peepers. <3 best Easter ever
