I hope my 9 are fertile blue Marans :barnie
I got my maran eggs off of eBay too. 50% of the eggs for me were fertile but only 50% of those eggs actually hatched. I am trying to build up that flock of birds

Set 14 coturnix quail today. It's too early for the HAL, but oh well. :fl I wanted to set chicken eggs for the actual HAL and have these on the side but it is looking like my birds won't cooperate. :barnie Come on ladies; it's March and you should be laying now.
I set mine on the 2nd! Race you to hatch!:lau

I have a quick question for ya'll.
If anyone of you have a GQF sportsman, what is the temperature setting that you put it at. I have a model 1502 and I'm not sure if the thermometer is off or not. Also how much do you open your water tray up top and how many holes should I unplug.
Thank you for any help.

I'm not going to be too much help but I have a GQF 1202 cabinet and I use one of those acurite thermometers that has an "outside" sensor to tell you the humidity and temperature. I put the sensor inside and keep it reading 100°. I rarely ever look at the thermometer thar belongs to the 1202 (it's usually reading something like 102-103 anyway). My water tray is a makeshift Tupperware container that I drilled a hole in for the float and made myself so I can't help with that aspect. My humidity stays around 22-35, depending on the weather (according to the acurite). It works well for me.

Looks like I spoke too soon, USPS can't find our package. Its already been 4 days since it was shipped. I'm so disappointed, it was to be our first hatch and we are doing a homeschool curriculum with at the fun stuff just in time for Easter. Trying to stay positive.....
Maybe someone local can supply some hatching eggs. Possibly post wanted on Craigslist.
