The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

Thank you. Yes, she is a WH. One of the first poultry birds I ever got. Wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for those four little ducklings. :love

This is the first time I’ve had enough extra eggs on a regular basis. I just started selling but so far no one I know has wanted any. They have no problem taking some when offered for free so I know they don’t have a problem with unwashed eggs. I’d rather not sell on CL, but I might try in a couple weeks if no one bites.

put a couple hand painted signs around saying fresh eggs or farm fresh eggs decide
what you want to charge

Which ones are these again? More SS?
This time they are 6 Dark Cornish eggs from Louisiana.

Much better packed also. Last box was a used Amazon box. This one was the PO box. Not a dent on it.

Just candled the brahma & araucana eggs I set on the 10th, one araucana and one brahma egg fertile and progressing. I have moved them over to the Farm Innovator Incubator with the Easter Eggers. I have one Easter Egger egg with no air cell? I moved
it to the side row of the incubator. What would cause that? I'm wondering if it was already progressing when the egg was given to me from the neighbor's hen? All the Easter Eggers look further along than the two eggs I set on the tenth? They are all blue eggs so I can't see in them as well as the pinkish-tan Brahma eggs. But they have some healthy arteries by the air cells I can see, but the rest is dark - like they could hatch in a week. But I've never hatched Easter Eggers before. Maybe they are like Marans and you really can't tell cause the pigment won't let you see through it. Air cells are normal for the first week and humidity is on the low side @33% as the Farm Innovator doesn't have humidity control.

Deals do help. Once I got the word out I can't keep eggs. I just sold two and a half dozen today but I could sell way more if I had them. At first I was worried I would get stuck with too many. Now, I am constantly waiting on eggs to fill orders lol. Planning on building my flock up a little so I'll have more eggs
Speaking of deal, mines really easy. Your first dozen is free if you like them come back and see me I usually have some and they are $3 a dozen. I have enough customers now that there isn’t anymore free eggs unless I know the family can’t afford them.

Both situations on the eggs could be possible. I’m leaning towards the egg being hard to see in especially if it’s like the Marans.
Did you check the hygrometer for accuracy? I bought a new meter that test both, the temperature was 4* off and the humidity was correct at least against my current meters that have been giving a good hatch.
