I make a point to handle all my birds right from the get-go. It is interesting to watch different temperaments. The BO and BR girls were standoffish for a while, probably due to being at the bottom of the pecking order. But they seem to rise thru the ranks as they approach point of lay.
We had 2 BOs last year and both were large and beautiful. I found each of them dead about two weeks apart. Never figured it out. No wounds or sickness (well, other than being dead).
The bantam cochins have always been friendly and wanting to lap sit, as are the Wyandottes, who also like to shoulder-sit. They are humongous birds by now so that is quite a challenge.
Well, we will have to see what Barbara has cooked up for today!
Yep, diva is right! Caught Fern on top of the coop today, which is about 7 ft off the ground. Later she got out and was running amongst my huge Blue Orpington breeding flock. Maybe she and Barbara are in cahoots to see what wild thing they can think of next, burning up the net with their chick-emails, LOL.

Well, I try to keep Barbara off the computer cause she messes up the keyboard. Did Fern think she was going to be camouflaged in with all those blue orps?

Yeah, camouflaged like a bull in a china shop, LOL.
