I just *love* Barbara and her stories.

Barbara had better watch her "back-side" and her "crown" with new girls moving in on the block. Men seem to like those skinny little new things....Barbara had better watch her "man". I know she can put the new girls in line if need be...but she will of course do it politically corrrect and with much "lady-likness" (does that make sense?)

I do believe if ever I got a BR rooster for Barbara, I would name him "Ken" or maybe "Kenneth". . . not very original, but a natural progression. Of course, there IS Leroy to consider. Tonight, we went out to lock up and Leroy was roosting in his bachelor's quarters. He had put himself there instead of the big coop, where I expected to find him. Too hot to snuggle with Barbara anyway. And Bob is a BIG BOY—4 times the size of Leroy. A pretty savvy little rooster.

The New Girls (continued)

The Ameraucana Gothic Couple, Bob and Marion, had produced several offspring this year. Bob has acquired several human admirers, enough so that one of them took TEN of his and Marion’s sons home, hoping for a Bob Jr.! The Chickendads hatched several of their other eggs in the incubator, and the little Buff Cochin Girl was sitting on a pile of them too. So Bob and Marion were excused from the Honeymoon Hotel. There were enough of their children around that they could retire for now.

Now that Leroy was the President of the Laying Hens and there were the four Sussex Girls to consider, Bob was moved into the Big Coop to share duties with him. Leroy did not take kindly to the presence of Bob, but the Sussex Girls were immediately smitten. Bob had beautiful orangey red feathers on his neck and back, and glossy green-black tail streamers trailing like crepe paper behind him when he strutted about. Of course, he had a manly beard, too. The Sussex Girls were all atwitter and came running the instant Bob called. Barbara thought it was sickening.

Meanwhile, Leroy was trying to keep up with the other six girls. Rather than have Leroy and Bob getting into arguments in the coop, Leroy was issued bachelor quarters for the nights—so that kept Leroy safe and Bob happy. All the Big Girls were allowed to free range during the day with the two boys. The Sussex Girls were plenty to keep Bob busy. Barbara was disgusted—those girls were WAY too easy.

The Sussex Girls were all atwitter and came running the instant Bob called. Barbara thought it was sickening.

Of course she did, Barbara is SO above such foolishness!​
