The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Pics
Pink- oh and yes they are ALL around doing better! The rounds of antibiotics, little shallow baths (really for Sarah to clean her eyes since she wouldn't with the coffee cup), neosporin on her eyes and fresh grass- all really seemed to be helping! No more snot, no more watery swollen eyes..but now the down around Sarah's eyes are matted from the neosporin base so I have to wait for that eventually be rubbed off. Worth it though!

Chickens are fun- the variety is really fun. But they are chickens. Ducks are REALLY fun- their antics and playfulness are hard to not love. Geese...oh my geese are evil. They reel in you in with their sweet talk and they want to engage you and they talk to you...oh my goodness. None of the other birds have done that. Geese = bad bad bad for bird math. I will however control myself and just enjoy our 2 for now and learn some more about geese and their care and see where next Spring takes us. :p

I love to see them do that also..its so cute. That is Lucy (tilting head) who i think is a male lol. And Elly is the smaller one...i thought i added the comment but it didnt appear with the picture.
Thank you Zoowee!

Maybe Luther instead of Lucy? haha! Geese are so hard with sexing! I thought ducks were but at least by 8 weeks you have quacks or rasps and then by 4 months drake curls. It's something! With geese it seems like you often have to wait until you see who starts laying in the Spring. LOL They are so pretty though. I really love the way the Chinese and Africans look. Sebbies are a tight tight 2nd for me though. With their gorgeous fluttery feathers??

It will be downright hot again soon- in a few weeks I can let my goosies play in the pool too. How fun! Do yours get all silly in there or do they mostly just sit and be pretty? :D

They are so silly!!! They go swimming under the water the poke their heads up and when one gets spooked and jumps out the other one will do the same the starts running around as if running from something and stumbles it so funny how silly the can be!
When I gave then out and I'm doing yard work they follow me, sometimes I'll run with my arms out, they come chasing me with their lil wings spread.... It's so cute and endearing to me.
You will love their playfulness!

Thank you Zoo and Summer! We am enjoying them tons. One of my females seems to have hurt her leg and has been limping for 2 days. I can't find anything wrong with the leg or foot so as of now I am watching her closely. All else with the additions to our family are going great. Now waiting on surprise baby goaties to be born.

Summerchick~ Sweet photo! They are beautiufl! My babies took their first bath yesterday in the bath tub. Play play play....splash splash splash. Took them a few minutes to grasp the water thing but once they got it.......it was over. I snapped some photos and will try to load later.

Still have the question out there if they are African or Chinese....and how long it will take for the dewlap and knobs to develop if anyone wants to toss it out there. Thanks in advance.
