The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Pics

My naughty goose loves the camera, he's such a cutie! Does anyone know why he would be shaking when I fed him this morning? It's chilly here, but not too terribly cold. It's probably nothing, i just worry.
All over or just his neck? My gander does this neck vibration thing. looks like it's shaking.

Gorgeous !!!

8geese, I have thought of you before when looking at my pied Africans. The one in the back is a yearling goose. I think her markings are pretty cool, too. :D

I lost a goose, she just didn't show up for lock down.

The other geese were calling for her to no avail. It was dusk and I walked around and could find no sign of her.
I let the Muscovies and geese forage on 2 fenced acres for a few hours each day. This was a larger 6 month old African goose. All the others were fine and accounted for. I have no idea what happened to her. The ducks are smaller and younger and 4 of the younger geese are smaller.
Strangely, the remaining 2 larger geese have taken up guard duty and sound an alarm at whatever they perceive as danger and they have finally accepted the younger geese into their flock.
My husband says I should not have gotten emotionally attached to the geese, but DARN! They are special.

:D what a pretty goose to be remembered by!
She is identical to some of my 3 month olds. Which color was her mom and which was her dad? Im hoping some of mine are girls.

She was a young juvenile when I got her last summer as part of the big rescue I did, so I have no idea who her parents are.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your goose, I cannot imagine having them and not getting attached, What kind of preds do ya'll have? and could it have been a 2 legged pred?

This is Jemima the white chinese goose, she is now about 6 months old and laying.
Geese ( they never really all had a name, they all came when you called geese) are out of their pen eating snow last Febuary. One later got killed by a fox (we think).
Geese got really lonely after her friend died so she spent a lot of time sitting next to the dog(on a chain) and helping daddy with the car.

Here's Baby, we got him and another one to be with geese but the other one died. Baby got sick several times and then ended up with a wry neck. Here you can see he looks kind of rough. We later got rid of him. I now have Geese, Albert and Jemima.
