The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Since byc won't let me upload old pics from my computer hard drive, but will let me upload directly pics from camera card, here is a new but not so great picture from this evening feeding of my crossed boys (the ones with the orange/black beaks).

My geese are starting to "pair off". Should start seeing those nice huge eggs any day now!
We have big puddles everywhere, no active breeding but seeing pairs/groups develop during free range today.
Pond is still iced over pretty bad, the Chinese still visited and dabbled in the creek
My july babies are huge, and maturing fast. I hope to take some pics tomorrow if its not raining.
I have an African gander that has big britches going on. He "punched" my arm, and fluffed up.
I have seen some squabbles between them, but first time one has been people aggressive.
Gee, my adult gander attacked him immediately! Not 2 minutes after that ended, African did it again!
My birds do not get a name til they earn it. He just earned it, JERK!
I grabbed him, then flipped and penned him right in front of the flock
Held him down until they flock moved on. He pulled the same stunt on oldest DD not 20 minutes later!
Same response, she will not tolerate aggression either. He settled his attitude down after that. He will walk up, and beak jab hard!
He is challenging Gee, and they are starting to fight. Looks like Jerk may not be staying,
Gee is 2 now, white Chinese and my favorite boy

The other Africans are fine, looks like another gander and possible 2 geese in them.
No issues with the Embden yet, but they are just HUGE! Positive one is a hen, and possibly a second.
Both groups are just six months, incredible how big they are already.
Both groups are several pounds heavier and taller than my Chinese already.
The most amazing part of it is, I have 14 geese that eat LESS than my 7 pekin ducks
But those eggs make some awesome baked goods too, and they do lay year around.

does anyone know if buff africans lay more eggs then browns?!
My buffs and browns lay the same.
I can't believe the white dewlap Africans I have are starting to act a bit like they are revving up for mating season already.
